DBC Homes was asked to covert an unfinished basement in to a media/game room. The idea were limitless but the space was confined. The house was about 5 years old; at the planning stage a finished basement wasn't discussed so there were design complications for the new room, the main complication was that the exposed plumbing could not be covered by a ceiling due to height restrictions. DBC Homes designed a room that would give the home owners a state of the art media room and a room that would be comfortable for games of all kinds. The home owners also wanted storage and built in cabinetry for there many books, games and movies. Additionally the husband wanted to keep some unfinished space for his work shop; an idea that DBC Homes could really relate to. The ceiling was pine tongue & Groove planking, built in hardwood cabinets, variable shelving, multi functional closet system, surround sound, and media room with easy access to all components. From paper to paint DBC Homes was on the job and the results speak for themselves. Below you will find samples of the design process, construction and finish work.
